When God Speaks in Dreams
An opening presentation and conversation exploring dreams in the Bible and early Quakerism, including stories of prophetic dreams, spiritual guidance, and communal discernment. We will also introduce the dreamwork approach of Jeremy Taylor, whose work emphasized the spiritual, creative, social justice and healing dimensions of dreams.
Saturday Workshop, 10 am to 4 pm
Exploring Our Dreams Together
A full day of experiential dreamwork, guided meditation, small-group sharing, projective dream exploration, and Dream Theater processes that invite us to listen deeply for the wisdom carried within our dreams. Dream Theater is an embodied, interactive approach that invites participants to step into the imagery and emotional landscape of a dream. Through movement, imagination, and collective reflection, we will explore how dreams may carry insight not only for the dreamer, but for the wider community.
Morning Session: 10:00 AM – 12:15 PM
Lunch Break: 12:15 PM – 1:30 PM
Afternoon Session: 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Workshop Description
Dreams have long been honored as a source of spiritual guidance, healing, creativity, and revelation. In the Bible, God speaks through dreams. Early Quakers recognized dreams and visions as ways the Spirit can communicate wisdom, warning, encouragement, and prophetic insight. This weekend workshop invites participants into a deeper relationship with their own dream life and with the Inward Teacher who may be speaking through it.
No previous experience with dreamwork is needed. Participants are welcome whether they remember dreams often or only occasionally. Please bring openness, curiosity, and, if possible, a dream you would like to explore.
Registration is free; donations to support the workshop leaders accepted.
Bring your lunch Saturday. Beverages and snacks available.
ADA accessible. All-gender restrooms.
To let us know you plan to come, email tina.tau@gmail.com by July 30th.
